What is Ipamorelin Peptide?
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide that functions as a highly selective growth hormone secretagogue, binding to the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) to trigger pulsatile GH release from the pituitary without meaningfully elevating ACTH, cortisol, prolactin, or other hormones.
Originally developed by Novo Nordisk and later studied in clinical settings, Ipamorelin activates Gq/PLC-dependent calcium signaling specifically in somatotropes, leading to short, natural-like GH pulses that peak within 40 minutes and return to baseline in 2–3 hours.
