Scientific Background
Cerebrolysin is a porcine (swine) brain-derived hydrolysate containing low-molecular-weight neuropeptides and free amino acids that cross the blood-brain barrier to mimic endogenous neurotrophic factors such as NGF (nerve growth factor) and BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor).
It supports neuronal survival, synaptic plasticity, and neuroprotection in preclinical and clinical models of stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neurodegeneration. Its multimodal mechanism includes modulation of neuroinflammatory pathways and promotion of functional recovery.
