Scientific Background
Follistatin 344 is a recombinant version of a human glycoprotein that potently inhibits myostatin and activin — members of the TGF-β superfamily that restrict muscle development.
By binding and neutralizing myostatin, Follistatin 344 removes constraints on muscle cell proliferation and differentiation, resulting in increased muscle mass and strength in preclinical models. Animal studies with myostatin-deficient mice have shown up to double the normal muscle mass, and follistatin overexpression has exceeded even these effects.
Research protocols typically involve short cycles of 10–20 days daily subcutaneous delivery to avoid adaptation, with applications in muscle hypertrophy, recovery, and wasting condition models.
